Steve Harrison “after a disappointing season for Bradford, with George having an early loan recall, finishing the second-half of the season as the club number two”… “we had a fair bit of interest in George, but no final decision, which was no doubt compounded by the pandemic crisis”

“In the end we had two contract offers on the final week, but at this stage George had enjoyed his trial period at Rams, and we all felt this offer to be the right one”

George began as a schoolboy at Bradford City, earning a scholarship at fifteen, and a two-year professional contract at seventeen.

He was Bradford City U18s and U23s captain and the “Young Player of the Year” in his last two season’s. He made his 1st team debut at Bradford last season.

During his time at Bradford City he was called up for the England Goalkeeper Camp at St Georges Park, and the club announced that they had turned down a substantial offer from a named Premier League Club around the same time as offering him an early professional contract.

George played on loan for Conference Guiseley side in 2019/20 making a well documented ‘miracle save’ against York City…

He has an endorsement deal with AB1 Gloves, the company owned by former Bosnian international and Chelsea, Stoke City and Bournemouth ‘keeper Asmir Begovic.

At just twenty -one years of age, George has been with DDG since the age of sixteen, he commented that “I couldn’t be happier with this new opportunity”

Congratulations George!
