Marie has retired from the “fast lane” following an exceptional playing career with Manchester City, Chelsea, SC Braga, Birmingham City and Brighton and Hove Albion
She was for many years the Ireland Number One
Marie won every domestic trophy in England & Portugal during her playing career and appeared in four Champions League tournaments for four different sides
Marie played her final season in the WSL as Number One at Birmingham City
An incredible and illustrious career and DDG is so very proud to have represented her during this wonderful period and our MD Steve Harrison recalls meeting her originally at Macclesfield station and heading across to the Etihad Stadium as we handled Chelsea to Manchester City transfer deal… the first of many years of advice and friendship

In Marie’s own words:
“As a kid I didn’t think it was possible for me to become a professional football player. I’m happy I was wrong”
“For the past eleven years I’ve been privileged to play alongside and against some of the best players in the world. Granted, conceding a few goals along the way!
“To my team mates, coaches and support staff that I’ve worked with, I say thank you and wish you all the very best for the upcoming season. Which on the back of the magnificent Euros performance by the Lionesses, will be the best yet.
“For me now it’s time to step away from playing and move into another area of the game and embracing a new challenge.”
A summary of Marie’s decorated career is here:
English WSL Title 🏆🏆
English FA Cup 🏆🏆🏆
